Astell Audits
What an Astell Audit covers, how often it runs, whether it costs tokens, and how to turn it off.
What is an Astell Audit?
An Astell Audit is a deep analysis run across all of your loops: a specific inference pass over the loop graph that goes beyond what the dashboard shows. Each audit reports:
- What's about to break: loops approaching their deadline with no motion
- What the consequences are: who and what is affected if each loop breaks
- What the mitigations are: the concrete moves that keep each loop alive
- What's tracked and measured: the signals Astell is watching on your behalf
- What to optimize, and how: where your team's coordination can improve, and the concrete changes that get it there
The Loops dashboard is the live view; the Audit is the scheduled deep read.
How often do audits run?
Audits run automatically twice a day on every plan, Sapling included: one in the morning, one at night. They're scheduled, not manually triggered. Astell runs the deep inference pass for you on that cadence. If you don't want them, you can turn audits off in settings.
Do audits cost tokens?
Yes. Each audit is a deep inference pass across all your loops, so it consumes tokens from your monthly pool like other metered usage. If you'd rather not spend tokens on the scheduled runs, turn audits off. You stay in control of the spend.
Can I turn audits off?
Audits are on by default and run twice daily. Because each run consumes tokens, you can disable them in settings if you'd rather reserve your pool for chat and ingestion, then turn them back on whenever you want the standing analysis again.
