Astell Actions
Tasks Astell takes on your behalf in your connected tools, with confirmation before anything ships.

What Astell Actions are
Astell Actions are single, targeted operations Astell performs on your behalf in your connected tools: update the Linear ticket, send the follow-up email, post the channel update, put the meeting on the calendar. Every action is grounded in your pre-ingested company data, so the draft Astell proposes already carries the right ticket, the right people, and the right history. That grounding is what keeps hallucination to a minimum: Astell isn't guessing at context, it's reading it. New actions ship continuously as integrations come online. (For an AI coworker with its own identity that takes on whole tasks, see Astell agents.)
How an action gets triggered
An Astell Action starts one of two ways:
- From the Loops dashboard: you opt in to resolve an open loop, and Astell proposes the action that closes it (update the ticket, send the follow-up, schedule the meeting).
- From Astell chat: you ask Astell to perform an action directly.
Either way, the action is performed on your behalf, shows as you in the source tool, and surfaces a confirmation card before it runs. Both paths are priced identically.
What actions can do today
Examples of what Astell Actions can do across the tools you've connected:
- Update a Linear ticket, assign an owner, change priority, set a due date
- Draft and send an email
- Post a message in Slack: channel update, DM, thread reply
- Create or edit a calendar event with attendees
- Comment on a Notion page, a doc, or a thread
- Pull artifacts from one tool and write a summary to another
The catalog grows as new integrations land. The goal: wherever Astell can read, it can also act.
Approving an action before it runs
Every Astell Action surfaces as a confirmation card before it's pushed to the source tool. The card shows what Astell intends to do (the target ticket, the email recipients, the message body) and gives you space to edit, approve, or cancel. Nothing leaves Astell without your explicit go-ahead. The same confirmation flow applies whether you trigger the action from Astell chat or from the Loops dashboard.
