What Astell workflows are
Astell workflows are scheduled or recurring sequences of Astell Actions that run without you re-prompting. Set one up to run on a cadence ("every Monday morning, summarize the week's closed loops in #ops"), in response to a trigger ("when a Linear ticket flips to In Review, post the diff summary in #eng-review"), or as a multi-step playbook tied to a single Linear ticket.
Workflows in practice
Common Astell workflows look like:
- Daily: a 7am Slack DM summarizing what changed overnight across your loops, with the top three you should look at first.
- Weekly: a Friday wrap-up of every loop that closed, every loop that broke, and what slipped into next week.
- Per-ticket: when a Linear ticket moves to "Awaiting review," Astell pulls the diff summary, posts it in the review channel, and pings the suggested reviewer.
- On-trigger: when a customer-facing email lands, Astell drafts a reply that cites the open loops with that customer.
Workflows run inside the same token budget as Astell Actions.
